Why work for Skyline Ridge Fire Company?
Wildland Firefighter (FFT2)
$30.00/hr (+ $5.09/hr fringe first 40 hrs per week)
Serve on a Type-6 wildland fire engine responding to vegetation fires throughout Oregon and nationwide. Duties include hose lays, pump-and-roll operations, handline construction, mop-up, and securing fireline using Pulaskis, shovels, and other hand tools. Firefighters operate pumps and firefighting equipment, maintain engine tools, hose, and readiness, and work long shifts in steep terrain, smoke, heat, and remote environments. Crew members must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to operate as part of a small professional engine crew under demanding fireline conditions. Assignments may involve extended travel and long operational periods during active fire incidents. This is an opportunity to gain valuable engine experience on a fast-moving initial-attack resource.
Requirements:
FFT2 qualification (or the ability to obtain), a current Red Card, current Arduous Pack Test, and a valid driver’s license. Background check. Prior wildland fire or engine experience is preferred but not required.
